Common questions
What size are the cards?
Our cards are 83 × 51 mm (3.27″ × 2.0″) — a slightly slimmer European format. They are the same height as a standard US card but a little narrower, which is what gives them their distinctive proportion. If you need the exact US 3.5″ × 2″ format, please contact us before ordering.
What file should I send?
A print-ready PDF is best. Set your artwork to 86 × 54 mm (that is the trim size plus 1.5 mm bleed on every edge), 300 dpi and CMYK. Keep important text at least 3 mm inside the trim. AI, EPS, PNG and JPG are fine too — we will tell you if anything needs fixing.
What is raised gloss?
A clear varnish applied on top of your matte card and built up so it sits slightly proud of the surface. You can see it catch the light and feel it with your thumb. It works beautifully on a logo, a monogram or a single line of type — used sparingly it is the detail people comment on.
Is the back printed too?
Yes. Double-sided full colour is included on every card at no extra cost — it is not an upgrade. Send us both sides, or leave the back to us and we will set your logo on it.
